Convent of Our Lady of Pena.

With the ending of religious orders, the convent was abandoned. In the year of 1838, the convent and its lands are sold off at public auction and acquired by Ferdinand II.

Decree abolishing religious orders
Backs the secularisation of all the assets of religious order and their subsequent integration into the National Estate. The clergy had been a key supporter of the absolutist cause.
