Death of Carlota Joaquina, mother of Pedro IV and Miguel, in the Royal Palace of Queluz.
Her body is lain in state and with due honours in the Throne Room.

The news of the ceremonies taking place on the occasion of the death of the Queen were announced in no. 13 of the Lisbon Gazette, 15 January 1830, Friday edition:

Lisbon, 14 January.

Sunday, 10th of the current month, laid out in one of the main rooms of the Palace of Queluz, in accordance with all due funereal pomp and ceremony, the Body of the August Empress, Queen, Mother of our most Worthy Sovereign, in a coffin on a dais and with the saying of the Prayers for the Deceased present on the Altars destined for such purpose and celebrating the solemn Mission and Officio of the Defunct, with the assistance of His Excellence the Cardinal Patriarch and celebrating His Excellency and Most Reverend Lead Friar…
