Pedro nominates a provisional committee to rule the kingdom during the usurpation by Miguel
The Committee nominated by Pedro published a manifesto of support and legitimation of the rights of King Pedro IV and Queen Maria II in no. 2 of the Official Gazette (Porto), 28 May 1828, Wednesday:

MANIFESTO:

The Provisional Committee, Encharged with maintaining the Legitimate Authority of King Pedro IV fell short in one of its most important duties in letting pass the manifestation of the Portuguese Nation, to the Nations of Europe, and to the entire World the true motives that are determining such a crucial undertaking; if leaving in silence the most serious reasons justifying the noble and such noteworthy efforts with which the proud and loyal army, united in sentiment of a loyal People, taking up arms in order to co-assist in this fair cause and maintaining unharmed the due rights of a Much Loved Sovereign, thereby saving a Nation from opprobrium that has never before stained the pages of its History.
