Miguel swears loyalty to the Constitutional Charter in Vienna, where he was in exile, and accepts marriage to Maria da Glória, his niece.
The news of the swearing of the oath by Miguel came in the Supplement to no. 255 of the Lisbon Gazette, 30 October 1826, Monday edition:

Ministry of Foreign Affairs 

With great satisfaction do we transcribe the Declaration of the Ministry of His Majesty in the Court of Vienna with the important news that His Highness and Serene Prince Miguel swore an Oath to the Constitutional Charter of the Portuguese Monarchy on the 4th of this month.
