Today, dropping anchor in this Port was the Schooner, Maritime Mail, = Princeza Real – Commander 2nd Lieutenant Mancio José Alves, arriving from Rio de Janeiro in 68 days. It brought news of the happy birth of the Prince of Beira on the day of 6 March; also announcing that the King had set his departure date for the first days of the month of April as well as determining that the Prince and Princess would remain in Brazil for the meantime.
